Lavender Whiskey Sour


  • 2oz Makers Mark Bourbon (any good bourbon will do, Buffalo Trace is my first choice)
  • 1oz Fresh Lemon Juice
  • 1oz Lavender Simple Syrup (DIY recipe included below)
  • 1 Egg White (or 0.75oz Aquafaba if you are vegan or have allergies)
  • 2 dashes Angostura Bitters (Lavender bitters are also acceptable)


  1. Combine all ingredients into a Boston Shaker over ice
  2. Shake vigorously for 20-30 seconds
  3. Use a Hawthorne strainer to separate drink mixture from ice, double straining through a mesh strainer is best
  4. If you like it extra foamy like me, reverse dry shake before serving
  5. Serve over fresh ice in a rocks glass or up in a stemmed glass such as a coupe or martini glass, garnish with a lavender flower stem

If you are unable to find lavender syup at your local store it's very easy to make at home

Lavender Simple Syrup:

  1. Boil 1 cup water
  2. Add 1/4th cup dried lavender flowers, reduce heat and simmer for 3-5 minutes or until the water darkens and you can smell the lavender
  3. Strain out lavender using a mesh strainer
  4. While lavender water is still hot, combine with 1 cup of granulated white sugar, stir until dissolved
  5. Allow mixture to cool before consumption
